The elevation is at 8300 ft. The hottest day during the summer maybe 85F (with 20% humidity) but the nights never even reach 60F and typically around 50F so AC isn't even needed. Our average temperature is 46F.
Driving to Durango is approximately 25 - 30 minutes.

Yes. The only Internet that we can get in the San Juan Mountains is Satellite. It isn't fast but at least we have it! So, if you like to stream movies, sorry partner, you'll need to download them prior to arrival but if you need to check your email and do basic web browsing (no Facebook, YouTube, or other heavy video/photo websites) you'll be just fine.
It definitely depends on the situation.
If there is a loss of power, there is a hardwired landline phone that is under the stairs that lead up to the Retreat. It is in a water proof gray box. We installed it for law enforcement and the locals in case they ever need it.
But if it is a true emergency, call 911 immediately.
You will get a personalized number for all the exterior doors that will only work while you are visiting. The doors will notify us each time they are unlocked and if more than 3 failed attempts, it will lock out for 5 minutes.

One of the questions we get is about how high or low is the lake level. Lemon is a reservoir (as all the lakes in the region) and at peak is 3 miles in length. Typically Lemon is full by May and June. It will start to go down over the summer and by September usually half the size.
